Reporting to the People & Culture Manager - Collections, the role offers a wide variety of HR/P&C generalist responsibilities including case management, capability development, employee relations, grievance management and workforce planning. This role is perfect for an emerging People & Culture professional to gain further experience and mentoring from a senior experienced P&C Manager to progress their career.

 

This role directly supports our Collections department based across NSW, Vic and QLD – specifically, our Victorian Driver group, NSW/QLD Bulk Haulage fleet and our entire Commercial and Industrial division nationally. You will be supported by a large People & Safety team spread across NSW, QLD and Victoria. You will be the first point of contact for your business areas, be trusted to manage your stakeholders and work independently to achieve your outcomes. You will be the first point of contact for a portfolio of approx. 200 employees including Drivers, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Allocators and have direct contact as a trusted advisor with the executive leaders of each portfolio division.

 

This position is available for a fixed-term 12-month maternity leave cover, with an immediate start and is offered on a hybrid basis. Your home base location will be our Head Office in Auburn, with 1 day per week in Eastern Creek as a mandatory component of the role. We accommodate flexible working arrangements and there is the ability to work from home.

 

The role:

  • Partner with line leaders to proactively engage our GOgetters as we strive to provide a workplace that gets better every day
  • Guide leaders in all People & Culture policies and process, including but not limited to; performance management, inclusion and diversity, learning and development, remuneration, resource planning and talent.
  • Proactively recommend people-centred solutions to support business changes.
  • Assist with the development and review of People & Culture policies and processes.
  • Communicate, educate and train GOgetters and leaders on key People & Culture initiatives, policies and programs.
  • Be approachable and highly visible to GOgetters to ensure they have access to the role
  • Conduct investigations as appropriate, adhering to procedural fairness guidelines.
  • Support and conduct disciplinary, performance and similar related meetings and investigations
  • Assist in the administration of the SuccessFactors HRIS system, including communication, education and training to the business.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, recommending changes and ensuring best practice is applied.
  • Provide support to leaders to resolve disputes and resolve potential people issues with minimal escalation.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the People & Culture team to ensure a ‘one team' approach.
  • Work collaboratively across other support functions, particularly our colleagues in Safety, Environment and Quality, utilising key information to make people related decisions.
  • As required, assist with the recruitment and on-boarding/induction process.

 

What you bring:

  • Undergraduate qualification in human resources management or industrial/employment relations
  • 2-3 years' experience in a human resources or people and culture role
  • End to end case management of complex and sensitive employee matters such as pay disputes, bullying and harassment, disciplinary and performance management processes
  • Sound understanding of the Australian Industrial Relations Framework, National Employment Standards and Fair Work Act (Cth)
  • Prior experience working with a human resource information systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent recordkeeping and compliance skills
  • Comfortable working in a remote and virtual team with stakeholders across Australia
  • Ability to think independently with a solutions mindset
  • Work autonomously and provide practical and pragmatic support to frontline leaders
