Safety & Environmental Manager

BINGO industries are looking for our newest Safety and Environmental Manager. This is an exciting opportunity working out of our West Melbourne site!

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide support for day-to-day technical and compliance issues and requirements in line with Bingo’s operational and environmental plans and to optimise compliance, resource recovery and other SEQ objectives.
• Maintain oversight of site operations compliance obligations related to licences, approvals and permits.
• Apply the relevant risk management frameworks, aimed at eliminating, minimising, or managing operational risks specifically around critical control programs.
• Ensure that relevant risk/compliance standards are communicated and met and investigate and provide assurance over associated health controls.
• Complete tasks required to maintain compliance with ISO14001, 9001 and 45001 standards and related Bingo HSEQ Management Systems and related documents.
• Provide input and have hands on approach where required for HSE audits, monitoring, reporting and investigations including Root Cause Investigations (ICAM).
• Liaise with stakeholders in relation to corporate environmental obligations systems and procedures.
• Proactive injury management and managing return to work programs for any injured employees.
• Provide advice and leadership for operational and commercial opportunities and constraints, as they relate to environment and proposed projects.
• Management of environment related matters including for example environmental monitoring.
• Provide technical and due diligence support for HSE aspects of business development, research, capital works and technical projects relating to the improvement of existing business operations and where required growth projects.
• Nurture a culture for safety and environmental responsibility within the organisation by promoting awareness and best practices.

What makes you a GOgetter:

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS.
• Demonstrated understanding of WHS legislation.
• Experience and or qualifications in Environmental Management or similar are beneficial.
• Sound ISO certification understanding.
• Demonstrated experience embedding a HSE leadership culture in high risk operations.
• Previous experience working in high-risk environments such as confined space, working at heights and processing plant (advantageous) and or environmentally regulated operating environments.
